Non-government organizations (NGOs) are known as human rights activists. In other words, they provide humanitarian aids and environmental solutions. NGOs have three segments: implementer, catalyst, and partner. The implementers allocate resources and provide goods and services such as medical, training services, humanitarian reliefs, and human rights. On the other hand, there is the catalyst. He encourages people to improve their ideas and actions. It also promotes social renewal and structure. In addition, NGOs take in partnership with governments, donors, and secondary or tertiary sectors to grow. Furthermore, there are various characteristics such as formal or informal, bureaucratic or flexible in NGOs. They indicate that there are several types of NGOs because they deal with various problems and solutions. NGOs have favorable and damaging sides. To begin with, NGOs have valuable actions. They increase social assistance and solidarity. For instance, ATDAA services foreigners who want to learn about İstanbul’s touristic attractions. So, foreigners can travel the city with residents easily via ATDAA. By doing so they can improve their relationship with people. On the contrary, Some NGOs can make mistakes as they do not use aids effectively. Hence, people doubt NGOs’ applications. To illustrate, after developed countries help the poor ones and see that their aids are not reaching the people in need. Although, there are myriad of mistake, one of them is more significant that they waste people’s help. To solve this complication, inspection mechanism should be constituted for NGOs by other NGOs or by civil society. That is, to make NGOs’ financial statements accessible on Internet where people can easily learn where NGOs are spending their money. In Turkey, these organizations should be increased because those broaden people’s horizons. NGOs in Turkey interfere with political affair, so dissenters start protesting. Sometimes some of them cause worse scenarios such as vandalism. If NGOs’ negative sides can be prevented, they can provide very big contributions to humanity.
