The Critique is About This ENG 102 Class

ENG 102 course can be described with 3 adjectives. One of them is didactic because of the fact that we have investigated in detail the positive and negative aspects of unknown organizations and individuals like non-governmental organizations’ various effects or social entrepreneurs. We could learn how important social responsibility is. We analyzed and tried to discuss about sociocultural, economic problems and solutions like sustainability, corporate social responsibility in around the world. However, we focused mainly on the successful studies and practices in the both Turkey and world and how will adopt in Turkey or if we have these organizations, we could have information about their functions. In addition, this course encouraged collective work among students. I made many presentations and discussion with my classmates. Thus, I not only gained experience but also developed myself in presentations and discussion skills. To put it another way, this course is educational.Moreover, the missing aspect of ENG 102 course is theoretical. I think that this course can make students get in contact with the non-governmental organizations or social entrepreneurs. If we work with them, we could comprehend more. We also have experienced in the business life. Hence, students could develop themselves in the life and business life. That is to say, this course can create more awareness toward social responsibilities. When I reviewed my overall performance, my performance could be better. I made a good effort in class despite the reluctance of my classmates. But sometimes I did not interact with most of them. They did not like to contract with new people. That is, most of them had introversion traits. To perform better in this course, I could have many options such as class change or communicate with the only successful students and so on. Class environment could be regulated by instructors or director of SCOLA. For instance, they can put limit for same department students. Finally, none of my English skills in this class did not improved enough. There were many problems such as exhausted students and classroom environment. If I eliminated these problems, I could improve better. And I will take other ENG courses. If I both go on writing blog posts and discuss with my foreign friends, I can improve my English skills. Taking everything into account, this course had with its ups and downs.
