Have a look at the Number of Passengers in 2018 of Emirates

In this blog post, we will show you Emirates Airline’s number of passengers and we will forecast the number of this year passengers by using past data. Our data starts from 2009 to 2017. We forecasted for 2018. We will see whether its traffic increases or not.
First of all, we used the linear trend model for forecasting. In 2009, 27.5 million passengers flew with Emirates. When we look at the graph, the graph indicates that the number of passengers has increased persistently for nine years. When we used the linear trend model, the next year prediction is that 63.58 million passengers will have flown with Emirates in 2018. When we look at the R square, it is close to one that means all the variability around its mean. So, it is better because it indicates that the linear trend is close to our real data. Therefore, it is more real to find best predictions.
In addition, we can see that this graph shows us exponential trend line of Emirates’s passenger numbers by using past data. According to this graph, Emirates will have reached 68.2 million passenger numbers in 2018. And when we look at the trend line, it is close to real numbers. That is the coefficient of determination is approximately 0.9797. So, it indicates the good fit. We can say that it can be possible for prediction.
Moreover, when we compare two graphs, they have a bit of difference by looking at the R square. However, this year prediction is different as 4.6 million passenger numbers because of their approaches. The first trend is linear. Another is exponential. When we examined this two predictions, the linear trend model is more appropriated because of the fact that its coefficient of determination is more close to one.
As a result, in light of this information, Emirates is a big airline that increases the number of passengers positively every year. This growth depends on many factors. When we examine in this blog post, we can see two different graphs about passenger numbers. One of them is a linear trendline and the other is an exponential trend line. If we look at the first graph, we can forecast the number of passengers could be 63.58 million in 2018 by using a linear model, on the other hand, the second graph is using an exponential function that changes the value as 68.2 million passengers . This reason for this difference is R square and there are 4.6 million passengers. So, linear trend’s result more close to real data.
